What is this all about ?

AspireSpace is, as always, short of money. This has often prevented us from carrying on development work. This is definitely the case for the hybrid development.

As a means to break out of this malaise, the H2 hybrid development is trying to actively raise funds by those members who can afford it. The graph above shows the current amount pledged by team members to purchase the components to build the AspireSpace H2 hybrid rocket motor.

So how much do we need ?

We only need 10 people to pledge 34 GBP each as soon as possible, in order to for the hybrid motor development to proceed. Cheques should be made payable to Adam Baker. When Adam has sufficient money, he will then purchase the components, and work can start on the construction of the hybrid motor.

Note; Adam Baker has purchased most of the components for the H2 hybrid motor !

So far, this includes the Polyethylene Fuel and the small (440 cc) oxidiser tank. The valves have also arrived, and have been delivered to Richard Osborne.

What happens if we get more than we need ?

Any donations above and beyoned the required sum, will be used towards the next phase of components we need to buy, namely the static test stand, fuel and oxidiser, and components for the flight capable motor.

Any monies which exceed this will be used to fund the flight demonstrator rocket, and components for the H20 hybrid motor.

Fundraising for the Hybrid Motor Development.

A number of ways of sustaining a modest amount of revenue for future hybrid motor work are possible. Firstly, with a total propellant cost of less than 30 GBP, per firing, we could possibly look at having individuals "Sponsor" a test firing, or a low altitude test launch. The other way of generating money would be through rocket mail. If even 100 first day covers could be flown on a flight, then at a selling price of 10 GBP and a cost of 1 GBP, a profit of 9 GBP is generated. On 100 covers flown, that is a profit of 900 GBP.

You can make a difference, You can help speed up development.

Thank you very much for your support.
