Faeries are small creatures with a natural aptitude for magic. They are weak, and lack hardines, but are so swift that most other people find it hard to find, let alone hit. They have fine, gossamer wings, which are fully capable of supporting flight, albeit for a limited time. Quite where or how long they live is a mystery, since only young faeries are ever encountered. Maybe their magic perpetuates their youth, as is seemingly the case with Nymphs, scholars are unsure.
In some lore, faeries are the wee people. In others they are sprites or evil pixies. But in fact, they are all of the above. Short and thin, they look like the handsomest of humanoids with small wings growing on their backs. Faeries have pointed ears hidden behind long, dark hair. Their skin colour varies depending on where they are from, ranging from a light green, to olive, to light brown. There is one particular group of faeries believed to have some hobbit in them with pale, pale skin and burning red hair.
Faeries are quite able to fly.
