The STAAR Research rocket launched tests were carried out using a number of
different launch vehicles, as follows:

carrying (piggyback), the Mark 8 Waverider (Number 3), and on separate
flights, the Mark 7 Waverider (Number 1).
- "Largs-9", a 2 stage launch vehicle purpose built by STAAR
Research, carrying (piggyback), Waverider Mark 8`s (Numbers 2 and 8),
on separate flights.
More recently, in November 1998, UK amateur rocketry group, MARS, offered launch services for the STAAR Research waveriders on a number of MARS custom launch vehicles.
The AspireSpace rocket launched tests were carried out using the following launch vehicle configuration:
|
- `A`-frame stabilised launch vehicles, which employ a
trailing-fins-mounted-on-booms arrangement to provide light weight
