Project Title: Develop Power Amplifiers
Project Description:
Develop solid-state switched-mode radio-frequency power amplifiers in
the frequency range from 7 to 30 MHz and with output powers from 1 kw
to 10 kw. Applications are in communications, semiconductor
processing, and medical imaging.
Background Information:
Current commercial RF power amplifiers are based on vacuum tubes or
extremely expensive RF power transistors. However, recent
developments in switched-mode power supplies indicate that it should
be possible to make light, inexpensive RF power amplifiers.
